Fire Damage Encapsulation

This house suffered extensive fire damage after a firework landed on the second floor and ignited the wood. Fortunately, the structure was salvageable, although it did suffer major smoke and soot damage.
This produced a strong odor that needed to be eliminated as a part of the remediation process. After debris was removed, we ice blasted the framework to remove soot and smoke damage from the beams. This removes a large amount of the odor, but another step can eradicate the smell altogether.
Once the wood was free of soot, our technicians encapsulated the affected areas. We apply a substance to the wood that protects the wood and seals in any lingering odor. This process masks smells caused by smoke and other carcinogens, and it also encapsulates some of the toughest stains that have soaked into the porous surfaces in the area.
