Blood Donation Month

January is National Blood Donor Month, which is spearheaded by the American Red Cross.  SERVPRO of Stamford has a long history of working with the Red Cross, both as corporate partners, and also on a local level.  We have assisted them in events like their regular smoke alarm install events, where teams assemble to install arms free of charge to those who cannot afford new ones and are in need.

National Blood Donor Month has been in effect since January of 1970, to increase blood and platelet donations during the winter months. During this time, bad weather frequently leads to cancelled blood drives, and seasonal illnesses like the cold and flu results in the number of available donors decreasing.

Donating blood is an extremely important action that can be taken to save the lives of those around you.  If you have the time, and are in good health, please consider donating blood this month.
